Site Scripted With Frontier Made with Macintosh Spun with PageSpinner

I use Frontier to manage and maintain my web pages. It's great for scripting oft repeated page generation functions and has an excellent glossary facility to make site-wide changes in URLs, etc. Frontier can also be used for CGIs, if you run a Mac-based web server (which I don't).

The only way to design on the Web (IMO) is with a Macintosh. I do all coding, writing, drawing, surfing, and file management on my Mac. It's just second nature to me (having used a Mac for over 9 years).

I code my HTML elements in PageSpinner. I find this to be the best semi-WYSIWYG Mac editor, for what I want to do. And it's inexpensive, too! It provides all of the latest tags, identifies which are in the standard and which are company specific, provides notebooks for oft-used text, and other nifty tools. One drawback: it isn't integrated with Frontier (yet).

I also use several tools to create and manipulate the graphics for this site. Some graphics are original, others are not (see below). All graphical tools below are available on the Macintosh. Prices range from free to several hundred dollars. If it's shareware, pay the fee - someone programmed this useful tool for you..

Equilibrium Debabelizer Debabelizer is the be-all and end-all of graphics conversion programs. Unlike Photoshop, you cannot draw with it. I use it to manipulate color palettes and reduce color depth before publishing graphics on the web. A powerful tool.
Graphic Converter A good shareware graphics tool for manipulating multiple graphics formats. In particular, it handles JPEG and GIF 89a (including animation). A solid tool to have in your Mac chest.
GifBuilder This is the freeware tool that allows you to build animated GIFs in a straightforward manner. Compare this to Graphic Converter to see which tool is better suited to your animated GIF needs.
Smart Sketch I do a lot of my drawing using Smart Sketch, a vector-based drawing program that also has elements of painting programs mixed in. It's a solid tool for those of us who are less artistically gifted, but no less creative, than others.
Specular Collage I use Specular Collage to create anti-aliased text that will be used in various gaphics. This tool is of less interest now that I have similar capabilities using Smart Sketch.

Additionally, I would be unable to produce this site to this level of quality without a wide range of public domain applets, code and graphics that are available on the Net. I owe all of these creators a debt of gratitude. Below, I hope to provide for them the measure of recognition that they deserve. (Please observe their copyrights in every case.)

The credits below indicate where I obtained the public domain applets, code and graphics. If you believe that I have wrongfully credited someone else with creatorship of an item, please accept my apologies and direct all inquiries to the party from whom I obtained said item.
