They Are Bullets No More, Reborn As Wizards
|
It happened at 5pm yesterday: the franchise known as the Washington Bullets ceased to exist. In its place rose a new franchise, the Washington Wizards, which hopes to build a bright new future. One that hopefully includes wins and NBA titles.
So, what do you think about the logo? (Your response goes to the mailing list.) It's definitely growing on me. I think this could definitely work long-term. I'm really curious about what the jerseys, in particular the road jerseys (the home jersey will have a white shirt), will look like.
Legler's Surgery Successful Wednesday's arthroscopic surgery on Tim Legler's knee was successful. That's good news. Let's hope he has a speedy and successful recovery. Another positive out of the change: the end of Hoops, the mascot. What a silly looking mascot. As they said on ESPN, they pushed Hoops "into the trashcan which he resembles."
No news on what the new mascot would be. Stay tuned for the regular season, I guess.
New merchandise is now available, at least in the Washington, DC area. The caps don't look too bad, and the full logo on a t-shirt doesn't look bad, either. However, I'm going to wait a little while before purchasing the new merchandise. However, sales of Wizards merchandise were reportedly good yesterday following the logo announcement.
Thus ends the Bullets Journal. There will be no more entries in the news section, as the Bullets are now defunct. There are just a few more columns I am working on, summarizing last season, and then we're done here.
On to the Wizards Watch...
