Howard Elected Vice President of NBA Player's Union

Yup, that player's union. The one that he wanted to disband back in July 1996. Well, he has become part of the establishment, along with Patrick Ewing, elected President, and Dikembe Mutombo, the other vice president. (You can pick this up in David Aldridge's recent NBA Beat report.)

It's not like Howard had worked his way up to this post. As far as I'm aware, he never served as the team's rep to the Player's Union. He just ran and was elected by the 29 team representatives at a recent Player's Union meeting.

And just who happens to represent all three of these players? None other than Mr. David Falk, a very successful (yet often vilified) agent.

You read between the lines on this one. It could get interesting, having the haves in charge of any possible future negotiations.
