Sonic Boom Wipes Out Injury-Depleted Wizards

Game leaders: Murray (22 points), Williams, Wallace (8 rebounds), Whitney (5 assists)

Cheaney Grows Comfortable
Calbert Cheaney is finally starting to round into a dangerous player, both offensively and defensively. It's no coincidence that it started when Bernie Bickerstaff changed the direction of this team last year, says Ric Bucher of the Washington Post.
In a word - ugly. They got outscored in every quarter and lost yet another player to injury. According to Ric Bucher of the Washington Post, Tim Legler reaggravated his right hamstring injury and is likely to start the season on injured reserve. When Legler went down early (after being in the game only 4 minutes), he pulled CWebb and Cheaney to avoid risking them to injury and played short-handed with his reserves the rest of the way.

The Wizards only got one player scoring in double-digits and shot poorly all-around (though few as futilely as Jimmy Oliver, who only connected on 2 of 18 shots). Let's just forget this game and move on.
