Wizards Make Their Final Roster Moves

Now we know what the Wizards plan on starting the season with, and it's kinda like we thought it would be as of a week ago, though not as we thought it would be as of the beginning of training camp.

First, the Wizards made it official by cutting Eric Leckner, then putting Tim Legler and Gheorghe Muresan on injured reserve. Legler and Muresan must spend at least 5 games on the IR before the team can activate them to the regular roster. Lastly, the Wizards put Terry Davis on the suspended list, which allows him to be on the roster and practice with the team while he gets into shape.

Further noted in an article by Ric Bucher of the Washington Post, Rod Strickland took part in a full contact scrimmage last night and did not have any problems. Thus, it's likely that he will be ready to play in Friday night's game. Juwan Howard also scrimmaged and should also be in the starting rotation.

Those are the good signs. And with the addition of Darvin Ham, Jimmy Oliver, and God Shammgod to the roster, this team could prove to be a very interesting collection over the next month, when it plays 11 of its first 16 games on the road prior to the opening of the MCI Center.

We wish them all luck.
